Warm Cinnamon Baked Apples with Granola

My mom used to make this for me when I was a kid so it brings back lots of memories. My mom simply baked apples filled with sugar, butter and cinnamon. But for some extra crunch, add granola or chopped nuts.

Ingredients
4 large baking apples
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) softened butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup of granola

Optional ingredients: pecans, walnuts, honey

Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Wash and core your apples.

Combine the butter, brown sugar, granola and cinnamon in a bowl. (Sometimes I add chopped pecans or walnuts for more crunch.) Fill your the hole in your apple left from taking out the core with the mixture.

Fill a baking dish or pyrex with about 3/4 cup water to cover the bottom. Place your apples upright in the dish. Bake for an hour until the apples are soft and the filling looks browned. You can even drizzle with honey before you serve.
