Triceps with a Twist

Don’t get stuck in a rut with the same ol’ routines and exercises. This variation on a tricep dip requires no equipment at all – just you and your body weight to sculpt sexy arms. Lying on your left side with knees slightly bent. Wrap your left arm around your waist to keep it out of the way. Place your right palm beside your left elbow, fingers pointing up to ward your head. Engage your abs, keep your shoulders down and on the exhale press into your palm to lift your torso off the floor onto your left hip. Pause just before your arm straightens and then slowly return to the floor. Do 20 reps on each side.

Notes: Make your movements slow and controlled and work with your breath. Let your top arm (triceps) do all the work.

Easier: Do fewer reps; only push your torso up as high as you can even if it’s not all the way – it will get easier with time and practice.

Harder: Increase your reps; lift your body up to your knees.
