The Most Educated Places in the U.S.

education graduationIn most of the country, only 8% of Americans have a master’s degree and only 1% have doctorates. So just where are these highly educated folks living? We wouldn’t be surprised to find out that college towns have some of the most educated people living in them. But on a recent list compiled by NerdWallet, college towns did not dominate!

To find the most educated places, NerdWallet analyzed U.S. Census Bureau data on the educational levels of residents in over 2,000 places. East Coast dominated with Maryland and Massachusets stealing more spots in the top 20 than any other states. Seven places from last year’s list held on to their spots in the top 10. Where as only 1% of American have doctorates, in Princeton NJ 17% of residents do!
