A Great Music Moment on TV

As I am always looking for a show I can watch with my kids, I was thrilled when the new season of The Voice started. With much fewer bleeps and mouth-covering “oops” bubbles than American Idol, it is definitely something you can enjoy with your kids. The judges are the same as last year, Adam Levine, Shakira, Usher and Blake Shelton. With markedly distinct music styles and personalities, they have different styles and opinions, but the magic to the show is the way they complement each other. The banter is sometimes hysterical, and even my 8 year old gets the joke.

The first few minutes of the premier showed us why it works. While they may be very different types of artists, the judges all share one very important thing in common, a love of music. They demonstrated this by singing each other’s signature songs in a 3 1/2 minute performance. We loved it. Check it out.
