Ridgewood Design Divas

fashion designVivian Burns, has been sewing since she was 8 years old. She worked in the fashion business for 20 years as a buyer/designer before she began So You Studio in 2005. Now she’s here to spread her passion for fashion with your child for one week of Design Diva camp!

Students will have an opportunity to learn various aspects of fashion design including the basics of design principals, color theory, fabric science and fashion illustration. The students will work independently and in teams to create their own unique designs and then draft the garment pattern from which they sew their final garment.

Camp is $300 and runs July 25-29 and is for students who are entering Grades 4-8 in September 2016

Former Art Director for Home Magazine, Heather Leahy Zachariah, left her career in publishing after baby number number one. She now works from home as a freelance graphic designer and a chauffeur to her 3 busy kids. "Working on TipsFromTown has been a wonderful outlet for me. It renewed my love of publishing where I can design colorful, enticing pages online and allows me to share the things I love about being a mom." Heather grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a place that still is near and dear to her. " After living in Brooklyn for 18 years and studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute, she now lives in the Jersey burbs. "I love living so close to NYC, but in my heart, I'm an Ohio girl."
