Catering Options for Your Thanksgiving Dinner

Pressed for time but still wanting to host and serve the turkey with all the trimmings this year? Don’t panic…there are several good local catering options that you might want to consider. A caterer can provide everything for your holiday ‘from soup to nuts’ or a caterer can be enlisted to pinch hit on just a few of the side dishes or desserts.

Kevin’s Thyme in Ho-ho-kus is offering a “Harvest Thanksgiving Package”  that provides all the holiday staples including the turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, plus two pies and other sides. It feeds 10 people and costs $299. Please note, the turkey is seasoned and oven-ready, but you’ll still need to cook it, and at least your house will smell like you’ve been preparing for weeks.

The Best of Everything in Ridgewood has a Thanksgiving Day menu similar to Kevin’s Thyme but they offer several different options for your choice of side dishes and your choice of desserts. Plus, they cook the turkey for you. What could be easier? Their package serves 10 and is priced at $289.

Whole Foods in Ridgewood and Paramus is offering a wide array of turkey choices from fresh and free-range to brined and organic. They have a fully-cooked and catered Thanksgiving menu that feeds 12 for $199. The menu does include dessert. They also have  multiplicity of starters, vegetables, potatoes and other sides plus dozens of desserts offered a la carte if you are just looking to augment what you’re already serving.

Another great option for a la carte ordering is Market Basket in Franklin Lakes. They are offering four varieties of stuffing and four different soups plus over a dozen other side dishes. You can order a completely prepared holiday dinner as well. Market Basket requires a minimum of 15 people at $25 per person for the whole meal, which includes store-made pies for dessert.

Are you looking for the bird, and just the bird? The fresh, free-range turkeys from Goffle Road Poultry Farm in Wyckoff are highly recommended. But order early…they do run out!
