Burning Man Art and Music Festival

The Burning Man music festival event is described as an experiment in community, art, radical self-expression, and radical self-reliance. Burning Man is organized by Black Rock City, NV. Approximately, 50,000 people attend.

Classic RV Adventures will set up an elaborate compound consisting of eight recreational vehicles and trailers stocked with food, linens, groceries. They charge $5,500 to $10,000 per RV for its Camp Classic Concierge packages that help empties septic tanks, brings water and makes sure the vehicles’ electricity, refrigeration, air conditioning, televisions, DVD players and other systems are ship shape. The staff also stocked the campers with Diet Coke, Gatorade and Cruzan rum.

When: Aug. 26 – Sept. 2

Where: Black Rock Desert, NV

No other festival like it in the country

You are in a gorgeous, sprawling desert.

This is an immersive experience: time for soul searching, self-reflection and appreciation of art, others, the world, etc.

Once you’re there you don’t need money. A gift-giving economy is encouraged.

Hands down, the most non-corporate festival out there. No sponsored tents.

Art, mutant vehicles and lots of bikes

Downsides:

You really have to plan for self-reliance. There’s no Wal-Mart around the block.

You are in a hot desert without much shade.

Lots of nudity, so this is not for the conservative
