Where to Recycle Fluorescent Lightbulbs

Did you know Lowe’s recycles compact fluorescent light bulbs? Lowe’s also accepts plastic bags, rechargeable batteries, and cellphones!

Incandescent light bulbs are ok to throw in the trash with the other household items. They’re not considered hazardous waste, but it’s still a good idea to wrap them up in paper in case they break.

Fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) are another story. They should always be disposed of through a recycling facility. They contain mercury which is harmful to the environment. Find a Lowe’s near you.
