La Candela

Sick of Italian, Mexican, Greek? Check out La Candela in Hicksville for some awesome Peruvian food. La Candela is a family run restaurant. These mouth watering dishes come straight from Peru where Elizabeth Paulino first learned to cook with her grandmother. I love supporting small, family restaurants especially when the food is authentic.

My recommendation is to get the whole chicken. It was fantastic and comes with an array of delicious sides. If you don’t finish it then even better…You’ll have leftovers the next day.

La Candela has a fun, cozy vibe and the staff is warm and welcoming. I had never been there before and out waiter was so patient explaining the different options and offering his own suggestions.
