Jingle Ball 2012

On Friday, December 7, Madison Square Garden will once again be jammed with teens and tweens for the always sold-out annual Z100 Jingle Ball Concert. Thousands of kids will shriek with adoration for their beloved pop stars. Now in its 17th year, Jingle Ball has become more than a concert, its the most popular pop, rock and R & B venue for performers featured on the radio station each year. It is the Super Bowl of shows, with 18,000 adults, teenagers and adolescents who fill the Garden in December. For many teens and tweens in the New York region, Jingle Ball has become a rite of passage because the concert is (for many) their first. A large number of the concert goers are still young enough that their parents sit with them. Other parents spend the concert in Jingle Ball’s designated “parent waiting area,” where they can lend one another moral support, eat and watch the concert on television at a lower volume.
