Summit’s Seniors are “Doing Lunch!”

Retirement is when you want to spend more time with friends and enjoy every meal.  The City of Summit Department of Community Programs (DCP) just made that a lot more fun for Summit Seniors.  The DCP is starting a “Lunch Bunch” program!

Each month, the “Lunch Bunch” will be going to a nearby restaurant for a fun meal and conversation. Though each person is responsible for the cost of their own food and beverages, transportation will be provided by the DCP in the new Miles MacMahon senior van at no cost to members.

“The Lunch Bunch activity is an excellent addition to our existing program options for seniors,” explains Program Coordinator Gretchen Masterfano. “It is a fun way for members of the seniors club to try new restaurants and spend the afternoon enjoying the company of others. We are pleased to be able to offer it for our seniors.”

The “Lunch Bunch” program is available for members of the Summit Seniors Club. Summit residents ages 55 and older are eligible to register with the club for $10 per year, while non-residents ages 55 and older can register for a fee of $50 per year.

For more information about the “Lunch Bunch” program or other senior programs provided by the DCP, please visit summitcommunityprograms.com or contact Gretchen Masterfano at 908-277-2932.
