An Extraordinary Couple Comes to Ridgewood

They’ve been interviewed by Nicolas Kristoff, Larry King and Chritane Amanpour and are visiting from Kenya to discuss the schools they have built in the Kenyan slum of Kibera. Gloria Steinem their book as giving “the greatest gift of all: hope.” On Thursday, November 17, you will have an opportunity to meet Kennedy Odede and Jessica Posner and hear their remarkable story of their love and journey. With their foundation, Shining Hope for Communities, they are on a mission to transform the lives of vulnerable girls and the urban poor of Kenya. Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) combats gender inequality and extreme poverty in urban slums by linking tuition free schools for girls to holistic social services for all.

find me unafraidDoors open at 6:30pm. Meet and Greet begins at 7pm. Tickets are $50 and include a signed copy of their book, Find Me Unafraid. Proceeds benefit The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood. There will be refreshments served and a cash bar.
