Learn Art Journaling from a Pro

Whether you are an experienced artist or a beginner, art journaling is an innovative way to unleash your creativity. Journaling helps define what you want to accomplish with your art by exploring the connection between words and images, helping you gain confidence in your ability to be creative.

Instructor Heidi Sussman is a photographer and mixed media artist who combines natural and digital art media with her photographs. Her art is process driven often incorporating image transfers, hot wax, cold wax and oil paint into her pieces. She will guide you through the steps to create mixed-media pages that reflect your personal expression in a book format using paint, photographs, pens, collage, and image transfers. Students will receive a blank journal at the first session. In addition, students will create individual pages and learn how to bind them into their own handmade journal.

The 5 sessions run from February 6 through March 5.
Tuition: member $160, non-member $170. Materials fee: $20

It renewed my love of publishing where I can design colorful, enticing pages online and allows me to share the things I love about being a mom." Heather grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a place that still is near and dear to her. " After living in Brooklyn for 18 years and studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute, she now lives in the Jersey burbs. "I love living so close to NYC, but in my heart, I'm an Ohio girl."
