Get Outside this Summer with Beach Yoga, Tai Chi and Music Under the Stars

It’s amazing what being outside can do for you mentally and physically, so what are you waiting for?  Get outside!  You may be surprised to learn that almost everything you enjoy doing indoors can be done outdoors in the summer.  It just takes a little digging, but I’ve already taken care of that for you.  Check out these awesome activities that will get you inspired and energized.

Beach Yoga
Devon Giordano, an awe-inspiring Yoga instructor, offers classes Sunday mornings 7:30- 8:15 am at Jones Beach, Field 6. Park all the way to the left and find us on the sand.  I love to start my week with a great, healthy activity like this.  It gives me the boost I need to continue eating right and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Class cost is donation only. Please RSVP if you are attending.  I hope to see you there!

What you will need:
A mat or a towel
Easy to slip on and off shoes like flip flops
Sunblock!
Hat
Waterbottle

Tai Chi
Old Westbury Gardens offers Tai Chi in the Gardens” 10:30 am – 11:30 am Tai Chi — a unique form of “moving meditation — calms the mind, relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit.  Sessions are taught by professional tai chi instructor, Linda Cafiero, and are designed for all experience levels.  $18.00 per session; $8.00 members  (rain or shine, includes Gardens admission) every Wednesday and Sunday.

What you will need:
Light, cotton clothes
Dress in layers
Good, light sneakers for support or easy to slip off sneakers if you would like to go barefoot!
Sunblock
Hat
Waterbottle

Concerts
Going to a concert can really add up between the tickets, the parking fees and any food or drinks you might want while you’re there.  However, right in our backyards are tons of free concerts by awesome artists!  Head over to the Town of Oyster Bay’s park, “John J. Burns Town Park.”  They will have 2 concerts a week this July so you will have no shortage to choose from!

What you will need:
An outdoor sport chair or towel to sit on
Bug spray
A cooler of drinks
Snacks
