Donate Your Shoes in Ridgewood

Ridgewood AM Rotary Club is once again partnering with Soles4Souls to bring shoes to the needy around the world.  During the last shoe drive the community donated over 13,000 shoes to Soles4Souls.  The Club hopes to break that record and reach the 15,000 mark to assist even more needy people around the world.

Soles4Souls disrupts the cycle of poverty by creating jobs and providing relief through the distribution of shoes around the world.  Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the organization repurposes product to supply micro-enterprise, disaster relief and direct assistance programs.  Since 2006, it has distributed more than 30 million pairs of shoes to 127 countries.  A nonprofit social enterprise, Soles4Souls earns more than half of its income and commits 100% of donations to programs.  Visit soles4souls.org for more information.

Collections will be held between Sept. 12-Oct. 27.  Collection boxes can be found at your local churches, schools, Terrie O’Connor Realtor locations or you can drop them off at Ridgewood Recycling Center in Ridgewood.  For more information, email Betty Wiest, chairman at bgwiest47@gmail.com.
