Wasabi Cream Cheese Dip

This is the easiest, quickest appetizer for any gathering. It is deliciously addictive, and you can keep all the ingredients in house for guests who stop by unannounced. It pairs great with white wine. Adjust the spiciness depending on your crowd, but anyone who likes wasabi, will love this combination of flavors. It is perfect for 8-10, though I’ve been known to take down half myself. You can double it for a larger crowd.

Ingredients:
1 16oz block of cream cheese
wasabi powder (about 1/2-1 tsp depending on your level of spiciness)
soy sauce
sesame seeds
wasabi flavored rice crackers

Slice cream cheese in half lengthwise. Like a sandwich, you want a top half and a bottom half.

Reconstitute wasabi powder according to directions and apply a thin paste to one half of the cream cheese.

Place the other half on top and use a butter knife to join the two halves and flattenĀ the block of cheese just a bit.

Pour about 1/8 cup soy sauce over cream cheese. You don’t have to measure. Just pour over until soy sauce covers the cheese and makes some shallow pools on the plate

Sprinkle sesame seeds to cover. I like to sprinkle some on the soy sauce around the cheese as well.

Serve with wasabi crackers.
