Summit Arts Festival: Art Walk, Ballet, Theater, Music and More!

May 1 to May 14, 2022

From dance and theater performances to photography and art installations, the Summit Arts Festival has something for everyone to come out and celebrate the talent of our amazing local artists. The festival will run from May 1 to 14.

The following is the festival’s schedule of events:

May 1: Balli Di Primavera
Iconic works presented by New Jersey Dance Theater Ensemble

May 1: Bright Star
The Summit Playhouse presents Bright Star, a buoyant musical about a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the 1920s and 40s.

May 3: Art Exhibit
“In And Out Of Focus,” features works by local photographer Leonard McDonald and Summit artist Tracy Luckner that celebrate nature in fine detail and the abstract. Reeves-Reed Arboretum.

May 4: Meet the Artist
Presented by Vivid Stage, this program allows people to engage with playwrights, directors and actors.

May 6: VIP Reception (invite only)

May 7: Summit Public Art Walk & The Larks Presented by Summit Public Art and The Junior League.

May 7: Opera Under the Stars
“The True Story of Cinderella” presented by The Continuo Arts Foundation and Clarum Sonum.

May 10:
See currents exhibitions at Visual Arts Center of New Jersey that are artistically and culturally diverse.

May 11: Meet the Artist
Presented by Vivid Stage.

May 13: Bright Star
Presented by Summit Playhouse.

May 14: The Closing Event “The Promise of Living”
A concert reflection on the “lives we live,” presented by The Continuo Arts Foundation with artists from the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey.

Former Art Director for Home Magazine, Heather Leahy Zachariah, left her career in publishing after baby number number one.
