Maggiano’s Little Italy – Try It, You’ll Like It!

It is encouraging to know that good taste runs in my family. My 16 year old son, Teddy swears by Maggiano’sLittle Italy Restaurant located at 600 Garden City Plaza in Garden City, New York. What makes it so fantastic? The bustling atmosphere, the super attentive service and the extensive menu. My family and I have been here a number of times now, and last night it was just “date night” for my son and I. He is an expert at their menu and immediately ordered the fried zucchini as an app, and then ordered the chicken cutlet Parmesan for himself and the outrageously delicious “Rigatoni D”  for his mom. This pasta dish consisted of  Herb-Roasted Chicken, Mushrooms and Caramelized Onions in a  Marsala Cream Sauce. Everything was superb. The fried zucchini is a hot item and the server was kind enough to tell us that they “ran out” and had to make a fresh new batch – that we would have to wait ten minutes. Then, the manager came over and thanked us for waiting – and said our app would be on the house! It truly was unnecessary because we didn’t wait very long at all, and even if we did, it was so nice to have quality time with my son I legitimately didn’t care if we had to wait an hour! The fried zucchini is served with a dill sauce that perfectly complements it, and the chicken cutlet was just crunchy enough on the outside while still remaining juicy on the inside. The sauce was authentically homemade and my pasta was decadent. It is hard to believe that a restaurant serving such quality is a chain. Lucky for us, this one is close by and conveniently located with ample parking. Their desert menu is sinful and we had to have Teddy’s favorite, the “Butter Cake” – don’t ask. I can just equate it with heaven on a plate. It is a buttery pound-cake served on a bed of cream – it is warm and inviting and a great way to finish off a meal. Pardon the pics, we kept eating before we realized I wanted to photograph – the portions are beyond generous. These pics show that we already had a nibble lol. OH! AND as if it couldn’t get any better – there is an entire section of pastas where if you order one for dinner you get to take an equal portion of any other one home! Mangiare!
