Cowboy Boots are a Must Have

I rang in the new year in Austin, Texas, the live music capital of the world. It was my first trip to the Lone Star State. We left the kiddies at home and got our country on for a few nights. I flew home with a slight hangover and a new appreciation for Texan culture – the breakfast burrito, the six string bass guitar and of course, cowboy boots. Nothing can make you feel the perfect combination of sexy and tough like the right pair of boots. So, even if you are a city girl like me, unleash your inner cowgirl and find yourself a great boot to kick start 2014.

The best part about cowboy boots is their versatility. You can wear them with just about anything and they will carry you seamlessly from day to night. And to boot, the right pair fit like a glove, so you can really kick up your heels.

The Classic: a 12 inch high boot with a heel about 1 inch high

The Peewee: a shorter cowboy boot made popular in the 1950s.

For the colorful: You don’t have to limit your choices to black and brown. You can find boots in every color of the rainbow. You may, however, want to spend a little less on the color as they may not stand the test of time.

Rock the red: Nothing will turn a cowboy’s eye faster than a girl confident enough to step out in fire engine red boots. They are a surefire way to turn up the heat.

Weatherproof: For two stepping in the rain, try these fun muck boots. The mud doesn’t have to dampen your country style.

Art for your feet: If you really want to make a statement, check out vintage style, original designs.

Don’t forget the kids: Much more reasonably priced than adult boots, you can find all kinds of styles for your junior cattle wranglers.
