Circling The Sun is written by Paula McLain who also wrote The Paris Wife. I just finished reading it for book group because the author is going to speak at a luncheon for The Friends of the Ridgewood Library Annual Luncheon on March 16th,2016. Grab a glass of wine, champagne or a cocktail while you are sitting down to read this story. You will fit right in with the era. This novel takes place in colonial Kenya in the 1920’s. The main character is Beryl Markham who is ahead of her time. She is interested in having a job only held by men and is very rough around the edges for that era. The story takes you through all her trials trying to get through life, breaking barriers for women and experiencing love on her own terms. It is definitely a great book to read over February break. Some of the characters are from the movie/book Out of Africa and it is based on historical fiction.
