Fall Fun: Mazes, Ziplines, Pumpkin Picking and More

Talk about fall fun: a trip to Derthick’s Farm has everything you need for a fun, fall family afternoon! The farm is an 8th generation family owned and operated working farm in Mantua, Ohio. Through the 1800s, the farm grew wheat, oats, corn and later potatoes were grown.  As times changed in the fifties, milking parlors were installed and the production of potatoes ended. More cows were added when Philip graduated from Alfred State University as generation 6 bought the farm. Philip still runs the farm today. Now the farm is a place for family fun every fall. The addition of the corn maze came in 2006 along with ziplines and other fun family activities. Kids can pick their own pumpkin, go on rides and grab a tasty snack like funnel cakes, hotdogs, amish baked goods and kettle corn at the concession stands.

The farm has 17 acres of fun including:

• A 1960’s Themed Corn Maze
• A Treasure Hunt Maze Game
• 2 300-foot Ziplines
• Round Bale Play Area
Pick a perfect pumpkin from the patch.
• Petting animals
Pony rides during special hours (ponies get tired too)
• Bucking cow trains
• Little Kids’ Maze
Run the Maze and Make Money for a Cause  •  Saturday, October 7 •  8:30 am
You can also participate in the 4th annual A-Maze-ing 5K/2 Mile Fun Run. Tackle obstacles like hay bales and tires as you make your way through the maze. The run proceeds benefit the Meghan R. Brant Scholarship Fund and the Crestwood Kids Weekend Meals Program. The maze will be marked to show you they way, but be ready for this challenging trail run in this unique racing experience. $20.00 entry fee for all participants.
