No one believed except the great fans here in Cleveland

Game 6 in the 2016 NBA Finals. No one gave us a chance. No one believed except the great fans here in Cleveland. It’s the Watch Party outside of the Q….I’m there celebrating an amazing game and an amazing performance by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Leaving downtown was amazing. Random people high-fiving each other, smiling and screaming. It was a night to remember.Cleveland Cavs

Flash forward to the next morning…I’m driving into work after 3 hours of sleep from the night before. I turn on the radio and start listening to sports talk like I always do on my commute to work…but this day is different. One caller calls into the radio show and says something about the Cavs being number one, going to win it all, etc… The next caller, however, talks about how he’s been in Cleveland for 50 years, has seen it all and how much this game 6 win means to the city of Cleveland and to himself. There is a pause and then he goes on to talk about how proud he is of the team and how happy he is that his kids may not have to wait as long as he has to see a championship in Cleveland.

It’s 7:30 in the morning. I’m stuck in traffic, 46 years old and balling like a baby. I don’t even attempt to wipe the tears away. The next car over looks over at me, see’s my CAVS shirt and yells “GO CAVS!” I’m still crying but now a smile takes shape.
It’s time to believe.
It’s time to win this thing.
I love this town.
I love this team.
GO CAVS!
