Could My Fashion Habits Be The Cause Of My Aches And Pains?!?

I’m not going to lie, when I think of fashion I actually get excited. My face lights up and my heart starts to race thinking of how transformative, expressive, and fun it can be. With that being said, my body is starting to show the signs of just how much my fashion habits are beating up my body.  My feet are mangled. If I don’t stop with the 6″ stilettos soon, I’m sure I’m going to be right there with Sara Jessica Parker- feet so severely damaged from heels my only choice will be flats… I think I just threw-up in my mouth as I typed that. Thank God fall is here and it’s boot season. The other bonus, kitten heels are one of Fall’s hottest trends. I can do this… baby steps.
Then there is my must have bag.  For me, when it comes to bags, bigger is better, which only results in me lugging around more crap then I need to.  I swear my handbag is like Mary Poppin’s bag… No joke, I think I could pull a lamp out of it. This could be the reason my right shoulder seems lower than my left and my back hurts.
Then add insult to my injury, I recently read an article stating that “sucking in” your belly for a photo opp, or to simply fit into your skinny jeans is really bad for you. Of course it is… apparently, sucking in your stomach robs your body of precious oxygen, which slows your metabolism, affects your focus and performance and deprives your cells of life.
So there you have it, my fashion obsession has left me with tortured feet, crooked shoulders, a sore back, a slower metabolism, deprived cells and not as focused. It’s funny, I always thought being fashion forward would make women look and feel good, maybe it’s time to re-think that one!
